Sunless by Necessity · No UV

When the sun is off limits, color isn’t.

Some clients come to deSoleil after a dermatologist’s warning, a doctor’s advice to give up tanning beds, or a season of treatment that changed how their skin handles the sun. A spray tan involves no UV at all, so it brings back the warmth of color without the exposure. If you have a health concern, your doctor has the final word, and Jana will plan around whatever they advise.

Color without the sun

It all happens on the surface.

A spray tan works entirely on the surface. The active ingredient, DHA, reacts with proteins in the outermost layer of skin to create color, and it never asks your skin to make melanin in response to UV. That’s why many clients who have been told to stay out of the sun find they can still feel like themselves in a sundress, at a wedding, or on a long-awaited trip.

“I used to use UV tanning beds regularly until my doctor told me I had to stop. Finding deSoleil was a total lifesaver.”

What to know before you book

A few things worth mentioning.

Mention your skincare and medications.

You don’t need to stop anything on your own. Tell Jana what you use, and she’ll plan around it. For any prescription, your doctor has the final word.

Keep wearing sunscreen.

A spray tan doesn’t protect your skin from the sun, so your usual protection stays part of every day.

Pregnant or nursing?

Research on DHA during pregnancy and breastfeeding is limited, so please ask your doctor before booking.

Recent procedures?

Microneedling, laser treatments and dermaplaning should be fully healed before a tan. Your provider can tell you when.

A gentle, unhurried appointment

Patience and respect, from the moment you arrive.

Every appointment begins with a conversation about your skin, your history with the sun, and the depth that feels right. Many clients in this situation prefer to start lighter and build over a visit or two. Formulas such as Unity NR pair the tan with skin-caring ingredients like niacinamide and hyaluronic acid, and the appointment itself takes about twenty minutes.

Jana is mature and nonjudgmental, and she has tanned clients through every kind of season in life.

Caring for your color

Hydration before, moisture after.

Hydrate your skin in the weeks before, exfoliate gently with a glove, and arrive with clean, dry skin. Afterward, moisturize every day with a product free of mineral oil, and the color will fade gradually over one to two weeks. The full Bronze Protocol covers every step.
